Motorola Razr 2023 1st Impression: I feel Sad

Image
The Motorola Razr 2023 (Razr 40 as it is sometimes called) is available refurbished for under 250 USD. Is this a good buy? Full disclosure, I will not be doing a full seven-day review, as the device will be shipped back after my hands-on, so I can get more content out for you guys. This is a 6.9-inch phone with green faux leather and a tiny cover display. This display is next to useless as it only shows the time, date, and battery percentage, basic camera control, and can be programmed to do things on "double tap" such as take a screenshot, or pause media      Speaking of battery percentage, the phone is not that good with battery life in my limited, Wi-Fi-only testing. According to AccuBattery it should have about 4 hrs and 30 min of screen-on time with 90% battery... which is not that good in my opinion, especially for phones at this price point which have large batteries and trash chips, so they can last all day. Also the Razr lo...

IG Edits Gets a Huge Update: Animate Images and Easier Overlays!

Image
IG Edits is one of the best short-form video editors out there, especially for Reels creators.      The latest update just dropped some cool new features—you can now animate images, and there's a handy way to move stuff to your overlays. As you all know, Teenpac is the imaginary pac used to reference what this image is (the TheTechBoy/SSALTW 'Pac' made to cater to teen interests. Meta AI powers the animation on these images, and it did a pretty good job in my opinion. Notice how it animate the girls walking AND the flag in the background.  You can access this by clicking an imported photo in your project, scrolling left on the toolbar, and tapping 'Animate'. The more day-to-day useful feature is the "Move to Timeline" button. With this, you can now easily move videos (or clips) to your overlay screen for layering—super helpful for picture-in-picture or multi-element edits. These updates make creating dynamic short-form content even smoother. Definitely wo...

The answer is simple

Image
Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a discussion.        Recently, someone posted that their DoorDash driver submitted an AI-generated image of their doorstep and faked the delivery to collect payment. Instead of thinking about this logically and realizing that you couldn't get a high-resolution photo of a door to make this work convincingly—the picture looked like clip art—and that the driver somehow defied the laws of physics by delivering instantly, people freaked out, even though the AI image looked obviously fake.       However, this does pose some real challenges. People are faking all kinds of content online, and as long as it's not malicious, I'm okay with that. But what if you want to verify something authentic? What if you need proof like an order confirmation or a dating app profile?      The answer isn't to stifle progress and halt tech—it never is. It's just simple solutions. Require people to take confirmation photos in-app. Man...

Z Flip 7 vs 7 FE

Image
Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a new article.        Samsung released two Z Flip models this year: the Galaxy Z Flip7 and the Z Flip7 FE. This article will serve as a guide to help you decide which phone you should buy. The Z Flip7 is arguably the better phone, especially for its target market (women and Gen Z) with much more fun colors. It also boasts a 4.1-inch, brighter cover display that runs at 120Hz, compared to the 3.4-inch, 60Hz cover display on the Z Flip7 FE.        The Flip7 FE has a slightly smaller main screen at 6.7 inches versus 6.9 inches on the Z Flip7 when unfolded. However, the Z Flip7 is far easier to hold in the hand and thinner overall. The Z Flip7 FE resembles last year's model, the Z Flip6, with its thicker and narrower design, which is noticeable and makes the phone feel somewhat outdated.        The cameras are the same on both models, featuring 50MP and 12MP main sensors, but the Z Flip7 has a better ...

I like slop

Image
There is a growing trend online to call great technology "slop." Sidenote but the slop is one of tge most annoying words know to man. Now yes, I will admit that artificial intelligence-generated content can be inaccurate or fake-looking at times. But most of what the annoying commenters online are calling "slop" is just good content. It's become a fun word amongst the worst people known to man: Redditors and Instagram commenters who are pushing against the pro-tech agenda. This content is genuinely fun, and the people pushing "slop" are just mad because they have nothing; they believe it is just "resistance." Under their cover, it's either faux empathy or pretending care about water. The term exploded in 2025. Merriam-Webster even made "slop" their Word of the Year, officially defining it as the flood of low-quality AI junk clogging our feeds. The doomers scream that real human creativity is drowning in this soulless zombi...
