How to Export Specific Texts as a File on an Android Phone
It’s harder than you might think. Exporting all your texts is easy, but exporting specific text threads is much more complicated. While searching for a solution to export texts on an Android phone, I stumbled upon a tip from Reddit—the cesspool of idiots, but even a cesspool can be useful sometimes. Unfortunately, because Google is stupid, they did not place this in their, essentially mandated texting application. (DOJ ya wanna break this up orrr…) You have to use the application Textra. Download Textra from the Play Store and set it as your default SMS app. Tap on the text thread you want to export. Tap the arrow icon in the top right, then click the three-dot menu icon.
