Computers are dead and the web is dying with it. In the 90s, computers were used mostly offline, but with the release of Internet Explorer, applications transitioned towards the web. In the early 2000s, websites were growing. People would surf the web for fun, to get content, and there were even dedicated portals from Yahoo and AOL. Computers were still used to access the internet, computer programs were still essential for internet access while phones were still gaining features. People used the internet for fun; websites were still being built, flash animation was a thing, and new forms of media were exploding. Podcasts, blogs, internet games all exploded in popularity. Magazines transitioned to the web and news went online. Life was fun... but then people stopped creating and just started posting links and memes on social media.
