AR Metal Detector!!

Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a special article.       As some of you may know, your phone has a built-in magnetometer, which allows it to be used as a metal detector. This application, Physics Toolbox Suite, in addition to being fun to play with (especially on a plane) and free, allows you to use AR to scan for metal.       Think of the possibilities you could use with this power! Anyway, to access it, download the application and open it, making sure to give it the relevant permissions. Next, click the hamburger menu and scroll all the way down until you tap "Mag AR".       The baseline of the non-magnetized air will be about 44 µT. You can add effects and other features by touching the three dots in the top left corner. In this image (captured via screenshot tool), you can see that it shoots up by a factor of approximately 2 when the radio is in frame. This is a cool twist on the metal detector concept, but it can be a bit finicky.  ...

Snapchat: The Everything App?

Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a special article.      For years I have criticized Snapchat, but was I too harsh? I thought about it, and now I think Snapchat is the everything app.        Think about it: Snapchat is a messaging application, a search engine with MyAI, and a photo-taking application. Like Samsung's built-in fun mode, Snapchat gives filters and AR to everyone. And quite honestly, it's probably the only app teens need.       Teens nowadays just use ChatGPT to do searches—no effort, no research. Safari is only for filling out forms or maybe checking their school's website. MyAI could settle this right then and there. They use Instagram as a chat app; Snapchat has that as well and also has a "cool" photo-sending mode to boot.
