Pescu Radio Review: WOW!!

Image
Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a special review. Pescu sent me a radio in exchange for the review.       The Pecsu handheld radio is great!! It costs 12 dollars, has a rechargeable battery (though you can put your own double a batteries in it if you like), and can play MP3 files, FM/AM radio, and Shortwave radio. It also comes with a hand strap for the portability aspect.      On the top of the device, there is the USB B charging port, weird I know, the USB port (untested) and a micro SD card slot. The USB A port and Micro SD card slot are for playing MP3s. It appears that if you want to switch the tracks you press the next button at the top of the radio.       Playing FM/AM/Shortwave radio is fairly simple. For example, if you want to listen to AM radio you would press the button that says 'AM' in your preferred frequency on the bottom of the radio. If you want to switch channels you can use the tuner on the side.    ...

Pecsu G5 Review

Image
The article was updated on January 30th to include the correct name of the MP3 player. The Pescu G5. Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a special review. Pecsu sent me the M4  G5  to review and I have spent some time with it and think it is a good MP3 player for the price. However, the software could be a bit better. The device features a 5-inch touch screen, a USBc port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 3000mAh battery. It also supports Bluetooth and WiFi. On the side, it has a microSD card slot that can support cards up to 1TB of storage.     When I unboxed the M4 and saw it and saw that it only had a 3000 mAh battery, my first thought was "Why is this so big?" Then I powered it on. And wow!!! This device gets loud. At max volume, it averaged 81 dB from the speakers. The sound is loud enough to fill a room and definitely louder than my phone!!! I was impressed.     When I unboxed the device, I also noticed the power and volume buttons and th...

These Things Are Pieces Of Junk And I want A Refund: Cobra Cobra ACXT360 Review

Image
Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a special article.      These '25' mile walkie-talkies are pieces of junk. They do not do what is advertised, you have to put your mouth too close to the microphone hole, and they are way too loud!! First of all these walkie-talkies will not work over 25 miles 'in an open field' and three miles 'in the city' I measured it on Google Earth and it cut out at .64 miles on a full charge!!  Static and then nothing.      Second of all these walkie-talkies make you put your mouth right up to the microphone and leave NO margin for error. If you are not directly over the hole you will hear static. This is hard to show to people which gives it a terrible ease of use score. Lastly, changing channels and volume makes so much noise. There is no 'mute' function. and covering the speakers doesn't really do much.  At least the 'call function' works well.       In conclusion, these walkie-talkies are borderline sca...

I Really Want A S24 Ultra

Image
Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a special article.      I want a Galaxy S24 Ultra!! The phone looks amazing and would be a great upgrade from my aging S22+ 5G!! This phone has a larger heatsink +Titanium (for heat dissipation), genuinely useful Ai features, a better battery, AND an improved camera response time!! This fixes nearly all my pain points with the S22+ 5G.      I am a smartphone power user, I swipe around and read news/sports/tech/weather articles, promote the website on socials, download my hour-long podcasts, and edit them. I also run online AI programs like Bard, ChatGPT, and Copiliot on my phone and trialed offline AI applications on my phone such as Layla AI , and that is  Just  for TheTechBoy.       At school, I take videos of the sports team and edit news videos in Lumafusion and Shotcut all on my phone . I also write the scripts for some of the videos and use my phone as an edutainment device on long bus trip...

How To Hear Walkie-talkie Traffic On A Phone or PC!!

Image
Hello, aspiring radio spies!! This is TheTechBoy with a special article. In this article, I will teach you how to use an SDR to intercept walkie-talkie traffic on an Android OR Windows device!! The equipment you will need is an SDR with an antenna (I’m using an RTL SDR), a dongle, internet access for research, and software.     On Android, you will need the application Magic SDR and the RTL SDR driver application. Plug your SDR into your phone using a USB C dongle, open the application, and click the RTL SDR option. Next, do some research on the brand of walkie-talkies your adversaries have and make note of the frequency, mine use 462ish with minor changes depending on the channel they are talking on.    Type in the desired frequency (using the Jump button) and you can use your thumb to pan around to see where the most noise is emanating. When you can lock on to the correct frequency, click ‘RX’ and switch to NFM or USB to hear the transmissions better....

First Perspective On Freespoke: New Trends Bad Layout

Image
Another year another alternative search engine. This year it's Freespoke that dares to challenge Google has interesting features...but falls a bit short.      Freespoke.com is a freemium search engine that has Ai article summarizing, marks search results as 'left' 'center', and 'right', and offers video search search with filters for YouTube, Rumble, TikTok , Vimeo, and Facebook.  It has a decent image search, and its AI summarizing is decent,  but  its search results are badly organized.       This search engine attempts to merge new search trends with old search layouts. This is demonstrated by searching for a search team. I searched the Texans, and instead of organizing news articles in a cluster, having an X carousel underneath, and showing a score box on top, Freespoke just shows the Quick Match (one link) AI summary and just random blue links in a row.         When I did a search for The...

How To Enable And Add Quick Responses In Samsung Messages

Image
Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a special article. Sometimes you can't or won't talk to people but still need to send a response. This is how you enable quick responses in Samsung Messages. 1. Open Samsung Messages          Open the application and click the three dots. Next, click the Quick Responses word at the near bottom of the ticker. Next, toggle the "Show in conversations" button. 2. Adding A Quick Response     Add a quick response by tapping the plus icon and typing in a message. After typing it, click save. You can move the messages around by holding the arrows and dragging them upwards or downwards. This will affect the placement of the messages in the application. Pressing and holding the messages will also allow you to delete them.  3. Sending     If you toggle the Quick Responses button then they will appear at the top of the keyboard. Tap it and they will appear in the text box.  Click the plus icon next to the camera i...

Layla Ai Review: Offline Chatbot For Your Phone

Image
Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a review of Layla AI.     I received the product for free in exchange for the review.       AI is booming right now, however there is one major hitch, the fact that it has to be connected to the internet to get a response. However, Layla Ai seeks to change that for 14.99 USD you can access an Ai chatbot (with multiple personalities) that is completely private and offline. So does it fulfill its promise?  Yes ish     Layla Ai does work offline, it does generate a response, and it does have multiple personalities which you can choose, but it is very slow. I have a pretty decent flagship phone, the Galaxy S22+ 5G, with 8GB of RAM and 128 GB or storage, and thus I tested it on the best model (there is an option to speed it up but it required at least 9GB or RAM)      There are three models on the application, one for lower-end hardware so the responses are not as good, one that blends good r...
