What is Gemini's share screen with live, and how can I use it?

Image
Hello, and welcome to the 1st article in our month-long 5-year anniversary celebration!! Gemini's share screen with live is a feature in Google Gemini that lets you chat with Gemini like a real person. Also, like I do multiple times in my podcast, it allows you to share your screen and essentially chat with it via voice.         Think of it like an advanced circle to search. Call up Gemini and click the Share screen with live button. Then you can just chat with whatever is in the area. It can do math, adding up how much you spent just from numbers on the screen, tell you facts about a sea turtle, and even chat with a paused YouTube video.        To turn it off, just swipe down and click X on Gemini Live. God bless, and tech talk to you later!!

Murena and Fairphone Launch New Privacy-Focused, Sustainable Smartphone

Image
June 25, 2025 — Tech companies Murena and Fairphone have announced the launch of the Murena Fairphone (Gen 6), a smartphone that combines a focus on digital privacy with sustainable design. The new device is being released alongside the standard Fairphone 6, which runs Android, and will be available in multiple markets starting today.        The Murena Fairphone (Gen 6) runs on /e/OS, Murena’s open-source, privacy-oriented mobile operating system. This version is designed to reduce data collection by blocking trackers at the operating system level. According to Murena, users can access popular apps without compromising on privacy, thanks to built-in tools like Advanced Privacy and a suite of tracker-free apps.        On the hardware side, the device is built by Fairphone, a company known for prioritizing ethical material sourcing and device repairability. The Gen 6 model includes a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, 50MP camera s...

Audio Muting in Galaxy Ai

Image
Samsung One UI 7 update brought Audio Eraser to my Samsung S24 Ultra, and it works really well. The tool, unfortunately, is only present in Samsung Gallery for now, rather than a system-wide feature. It allows you to enhance voices, remove music, and reduce background noise in videos using Galaxy AI. SHUT UP PAISLEY!!                                  Original Video         To use it, just open a video in Samsung Gallery and click the speaker icon on the right. For a shortcut, click the Galaxy AI icon when you open the video. Here I have a video I made of someone talking overlaid with the SSALTW RIZZ NATIONAL ANTHEM song.  To just hear the voice, you would click the music icon and click mute. This will use AI to delete the song, and in my experience, it sounded pretty good and does it quickly 'on the fly' as well.         ...

How to download encyclopedias to Kiwix Android

Image
If you long for the days of Encarta and want offline access to information, maybe you are going on a plane, don't want to use data, or want an ad-free experience, Kiwix is the application for you. In this article, I will be showing how to download Kiwix "encyclopedias" on Android.       Of course, the prerequisite is to have the Kiwix app installed and give it access to the necessary permissions. Next, open up the app and click the button on the bottom right that says "downloads." Here you will see options for what can be imported and saved offline. Search for what you want, and if it's there, click it and download it.      However, the options to download are limited. If you have a .zim file downloaded from the internet, you can use it and import it by clicking the plus button on the library. God bless and tech talk to you later!!

TheTechBoy Launches High School Election Simulator (beta)

Image
Hello, this is TheTechBoy with Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a special article.      I always wanted software that could simulate a high school election,  and, with the power of artificial intelligence, I am able to do so. Software has become boring now. There aren't many interesting things to do, and this could potentially become one of the greatest software programs of all time.       This software supports multiple candidates, but defaults to three and uses a Monte Carlo algorithm for its calculations. The software is free to use and will be hosted on TheTechBoy and SSALTW websites, as well as a publicly accessible board and HTML file for download. This means the software will also work offline as a web application. There is no backend; it just uses your computer's processing power. Hopefully, this works, and you have fun. God bless and tech talk to you later!!!  WEB ACCESS

AR Metal Detector!!

Image
Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a special article.       As some of you may know, your phone has a built-in magnetometer, which allows it to be used as a metal detector. This application, Physics Toolbox Suite, in addition to being fun to play with (especially on a plane) and free, allows you to use AR to scan for metal.       Think of the possibilities you could use with this power! Anyway, to access it, download the application and open it, making sure to give it the relevant permissions. Next, click the hamburger menu and scroll all the way down until you tap "Mag AR".       The baseline of the non-magnetized air will be about 44 µT. You can add effects and other features by touching the three dots in the top left corner. In this image (captured via screenshot tool), you can see that it shoots up by a factor of approximately 2 when the radio is in frame. This is a cool twist on the metal detector concept, but it can be a bit finicky.  ...

Offline Face Swap On ANDROID!!

Image
Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a special article.       Face swapping on Android phones usually means you have to use some AI website with "credits" and server wait times. The Play Store is infested with horrible apps that claim to be able to swap faces, but they are just web portals. However, I found one that does it all locally.       This application is called FaceSwapL and it allows you to swap faces via live camera, a photo, or even a video. I tested the photo face swapping, and essentially, you have to import your face image, the image of the face that will be swapped onto the original photo, and it will save. Whenever you want to do a swap, tap the image and then import your image and crop.         After this, the software will automatically swap it. Unfortunately, the application leaves a huge watermark, so you will have to erase it, and to save images, you have to click the save button. I recommend disconnecting the app from Wi...

Snapchat: The Everything App?

Image
Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a special article.      For years I have criticized Snapchat, but was I too harsh? I thought about it, and now I think Snapchat is the everything app.        Think about it: Snapchat is a messaging application, a search engine with MyAI, and a photo-taking application. Like Samsung's built-in fun mode, Snapchat gives filters and AR to everyone. And quite honestly, it's probably the only app teens need.       Teens nowadays just use ChatGPT to do searches—no effort, no research. Safari is only for filling out forms or maybe checking their school's website. MyAI could settle this right then and there. They use Instagram as a chat app; Snapchat has that as well and also has a "cool" photo-sending mode to boot. Snapchat can also replace the phone's default camera application, which is apparently something teens already do.      And lastly, Snapchat has short-form content. Snapchat is the everythi...

How to time travel with GOOGLE!!

Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a special article.        As you all know, the web is unfortunately dying. Information can be harder to find without the help of AI search engines, and you have to swim through a glut of SEO-optimized articles to find information. However, if you want to find out things that are a bit older and that go into more depth—maybe cellphone hacking in the pre-iPhone days, wardialing, or maybe some news story from 2005—Google has a feature that can help.         For mobile phone users, use the built-in browser and enable desktop mode. Computers can skip this step. Then go to the tools icon on the far right and click it. Check the far left and look for "Any time," click that, and you should be able to filter your results around the dates the articles were published. However, you may still want to go to the second page of Google for good results, as companies often update articles to give them multiple dates to get around this...
