Samsung: Cancel the Edge, Improve the Flip

Image
Samsung released the Galaxy Z Flip 7 series this year with some key improvements — a thinner, lighter design, a bigger cover screen (long gone are the days of Samsung trying to sell a 1.1-inch display as a “minimalism” feature), and finally, DeX support, turning the Flip into a true pocket-sized computer A few months later, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Edge, one of the more confusing phones in its lineup.      Sporting a 200-megapixel camera and a tall, slim design, Samsung seems torn between making the Edge a design-centric phone or a performance powerhouse — and honestly, it can’t do both well. Depending on where you shop, the S25 Ultra is actually cheaper than the Edge, though some retailers have discounts that flip the pricing. I’m not sure about the Edge’s gaming performance or battery life, but the better chip may not mean much if the hardware doesn’t back it up.      Sure, you can tweak the software or rely on cropping and AI ...

How To Use Samsung Notes Math Solver

Image
Samsung Notes has this really cool and useful feature that we’ve wanted for a long time — you can finally solve math equations right on your phone!       First, check the Galaxy Store and make sure Samsung Notes is updated on your device. Then create a new note and tap the three dots at the top right corner of the screen. At the bottom, you should see “Turn on Math Solver.” Turn it on. Next, select the pen or highlighter option and write a math problem. It doesn’t handle algebra or irrational numbers, but it works great for exponents, division, addition, and multiplication.      Be sure to write the equals sign at the end of the equation and write it linearly. The solver is fast and accurate, and it displays the solution in the same color and pen style you selected. The ink is also moveable and editable, just like a regular note. God bless and tech talk to you later!

Tab S10 Live vs Tab S10 FE

Image
Samsung offers two budget-friendly S-series tablets: the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite and the Galaxy Tab S10 FE, along with a Plus model. Let’s determine which tablet is best for you. The Galaxy Tab S10 FE (128 GB Wi-Fi model) retails for $429.99 USD and features a 10.9-inch display with a 2304 x 1440 (WUXGA+) resolution, supporting up to 90 Hz and compatibility with an S Pen. The Galaxy Tab S10 Lite also has a 10.9-inch display running at up to 90 Hz, but it uses a TFT display instead of the IPS display found in the FE. IPS displays offer better viewing angles and color accuracy, making the FE a superior choice for watching content.       Under the hood, the Tab S10 Lite is powered by an Exynos 1380 chip, while the FE uses the Exynos 1580, which supports faster download speeds and achieves 35% and 41% higher single- and multi-core Geekbench scores, respectively. This suggests the S10 FE performs better for demanding applications or video games. Neither ta...

How To Bypass SIM Setup on ANY Samsung Phone

Image
For some reason, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series devices and certain other Samsung models are shipped with a setup process that requires a SIM card. However, if you want to use the phone on Wi-Fi only, don’t have a physical SIM card, or rely on an eSIM from another device, there’s a way to bypass this requirement.      Return to the setup screen and press and hold the volume down button until a message appears stating, "SIM Setup Disabled." Then, proceed through the setup steps, and you should be able to bypass the SIM requirement. This method was tested and confirmed to work on a Galaxy Z Fold 5 running One UI 5.1.1. Samsung Unveils the Galaxy XR

Image
It's here!! The long-awaited competitor to Apple's Vision Pro was unveiled by Samsung yesterday and should be in the hands of consumers on the 31st. This is the first look at the Samsung Galaxy XR. The Galaxy XR runs Android XR with Gemini built in. According to Sameer Samat, President of Android Ecosystem at Google, "Android XR is the first Android platform built entirely for the Gemini era, and we are incredibly excited to take a significant leap forward today with the launch of Galaxy XR." The headset has a six-microphone array allowing you to use Gemini to navigate Google Maps in a 3D immersive view and search for YouTube videos. Galaxy XR supports 3D Photo & video capture with a 6.5 MP camera and supports passthrough so you ca circle to search in real life. However, the system is not all AI. It is still Android under the hood and can run applications from the Play Store, meaning your favorite apps should still work. Some of the applications included wit...

Snapchat Down: Teen Pac Declares WAR!!!

Image
The internet, or at least some parts of it is reportedly down after an AWS outage. Sites like snapchat and reddit reportedly went down although I was able to access reddit. As of time of writing, Snapchat is slow . I can access some of the ‘reels’ (including those terrible ads), stories, but messages will not send. The snap map look like its online although I cant possibly know if its accurate. Messages are taking longer to send.   According to down detector sites such as, ring, chime, starbucks, the New York Times, Roblox, and in a win for teens sneaking out Life360 are reportedly down. Hopefully teen paac can get this up and running, lest the great streak war begin. 😉 Except updates as the day goes on. God bless and Tech Talk To You Later!!!!

Innovation, Cool Factor Are Dead And The Spy Toy Industry Killed It

Image
As a society, I believe that we have lost the will for innovation. People claim that AI should be outlawed because of shoddy personal reasons, while companies continue to iterate with the same thing over and over again with no new, fresh ideas. You can see this not only in the phone industry, where the phones slightly change and continue to get more powerful, but the mobile applications continue to stay the same. Seventy percent of the top ten apps are social, chat, and shopping applications—essential web apps that have existed since 2013—not really using the core processing power of the device, because consumers have no demand for it and companies don’t want to provide it anymore.      You all voted to turn this into a spy-centric company, so I was thinking of coming up with new ideas for software that budding teen spies could use. Using my historical knowledge, you know that computers used to be used for codebreaking, missile guidance systems, and communication....

Why Does This Exist?

Image
Hahahahahahaha what is this. hmd touch 4g      HMD, the phone company known for the Nokia branding, making a ‘Barbie flip phone’ and also making this monstrosity that looks like a Pixel 9a stuck inside a box, released this phone, the HMD Touch 4G. This phone also has the same phone-in-a-box look but unlike having a big dynamic screen it has HUGE bezels, a physical home button, a huge camera island but only one camera. Also, the operating system is cloud-based, so no applications. The homescreen is literally just browser shortcuts. Anyway, these are the specs of this MP3 player-sized phone. look at this you could cut wood with it   The screen is 3.2 inches with a 0.3-megapixel front camera and a 2-megapixel rear, a 1950 mAh battery, and, get this, 128 megabytes of internal storage. Yes, a phone in 2025 came with less than a gigabyte of storage, or about enough space for 42 songs or 320 pictures. Thankfully, it can expand up to 32 GB with a micro SD card slot. The ph...

Breaking: Grok Ai Seems Down

Image
Grok AI, the xAI chatbot, seems to be down. As ChatGPT's performance has been declining, I decided to use Grok to help me edit my latest article about an interesting new phone (stay tuned for that piece). However, the models would not load. I then sent a simple test message that said 'Hi,' and received no response.  The Grok website itself still loads, and I can initiate a chat, but I get no response from the server. This incident highlights why offline AI is so important, as it would lead to fewer glitches and server outages, and why over-reliance on the internet is a risk. I have not seen any widespread reports of this outage, but I will update you when the service becomes available for me. 5:14 CST Grok inside of X seems up God bless and Tech Talk To You Later!

Motorola Talkabout T800 Review

Image
I reviewed the Motorola Talkabout walkie-talkies. These walkie-talkies have the usual features — push-to-talk communication and a built-in flashlight — but they also have one killer feature: they can chat over radio waves using your phone.      The Talkabouts connect to an Android or iOS app via Bluetooth, which lets your phone act as the keyboard and control center while the walkie-talkie functions as the transceiver. The app can also send your GPS location to other users — all without an internet connection. All you need is the app, Bluetooth, and the walkie-talkie. So, is this $109 device worth it? The Good The walkie-talkies are very durable, and the app works well. They come with their own charging dock that uses USB-C, and you can also charge the individual walkie-talkies directly. Pairing is quick and easy, and you get all kinds of telemetry info in the app — including battery percentage. They include 22 channels and 121 sub-channels , so i...

Zoom Enhance: Upscale Images On PC Offline!!!

Image
Television shows often show pictures getting enhanced. Today I’ll show you how you can use free software to enhance blurry photographs—just like you’re on an SSALTW mission. Even better, this software is completely free and finally WORKS OFFLINE! No cloud needed.      Thankfully, you don’t need any ridiculous command line tools, dependencies, or weird versions of Linux. The site https://upscayl.org/ provides a nice offline copy, with the download button right at the top. After installing the application, open it and click Select Image . This will open the file picker so you can choose the picture you want to enhance.      Depending on the type of image, you’ll want to choose a different model. Digital Art is for drawings, cartoons, bad logos, vector art, or a screengrab from your favorite 80s cartoon. For regular photos, I normally use Standard or Lite .      After selecting your model, you can choose how many times ...

How to Run AI Models Offline for Free on Windows

Image
One of my great fears is an internet outage because of how much we rely on it today with the advent of cloud computing and web-based applications, as well as the phone system running off of VOIP and not POTS. An internet outage would send us back not to the 1980s but to the 1880s. However, this application would allow you to access information without an internet connection or a web browser.      That is where the free software Jan AI comes into play. Download it from the official website and run the exe. After running, it will ask you to download your models. This is the pretrained model that will answer your questions. Click on the model you want, then click download. I chose the first model and I will compare my PC’s local speed versus the online version of Google Gemini. After waiting for your download, you can go to the chat interface. I asked it three questions. First, a basic fact: “What is the capital of Texas?” Then I asked it to write me a th...

One UI 8 BROKE Secure Folder

Image
Red alert, guys! As a heavy user of Samsung's core security feature, this just breaks my heart. Today I updated to the One UI 6 update and the September security patch, excited for a faster Galaxy AI screenshot, better security features, and hopefully better battery life. I was not expecting a core breakdown in the security of my phone.       On One UI 7, I had my phone set to lock upon the app's exit. Now, sometimes there may be glitches, but usually it would lock, so every time when switching from Chrome to Sheets to YouTube, the app would be locked. This was useful because it meant that mission-critical data couldn't be leaked even if my phone was unlocked. It also meant nobody could sign me up for newsletters if I handed them my phone to look at Instagram or something like that.        Now, with this update, it keeps the apps unlocked, essentially returning to the function of the application. If someone has access to the phone,...

Samsung, Don’t Fail Me When I Need You Most.

Image
I like my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Despite my qualms about internet stagnation and the lack of good apps being developed, it’s a plenty powerful phone… when it wants to be. Now, for some reason, my battery life hasn’t been the best, so I always keep my phone in Power Saving Mode (but with the CPU clocked to 100%), and I carry my battery case around at all times. The battery isn’t the main problem with the phone, though—it’s that it lags when I need it most.      I could be riding on the bus or train with the battery case on, using GPS to navigate Houston’s horrible METRO  system. Meanwhile, I may want to listen to a podcast and take notes on things I plan to talk about on my show. Pretty typical day. But if I ever have to switch applications—or maybe just swipe down on the notification shade—the phone lags and stutters. I know the phone can get hot from the charger and the case, but come on, the thermals should be a lot better than this. ...
