IG Edits Gets a Huge Update: Animate Images and Easier Overlays!

Image
IG Edits is one of the best short-form video editors out there, especially for Reels creators.      The latest update just dropped some cool new features—you can now animate images, and there's a handy way to move stuff to your overlays. As you all know, Teenpac is the imaginary pac used to reference what this image is (the TheTechBoy/SSALTW 'Pac' made to cater to teen interests. Meta AI powers the animation on these images, and it did a pretty good job in my opinion. Notice how it animate the girls walking AND the flag in the background.  You can access this by clicking an imported photo in your project, scrolling left on the toolbar, and tapping 'Animate'. The more day-to-day useful feature is the "Move to Timeline" button. With this, you can now easily move videos (or clips) to your overlay screen for layering—super helpful for picture-in-picture or multi-element edits. These updates make creating dynamic short-form content even smoother. Definitely wo...

The answer is simple

Image
Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a discussion.        Recently, someone posted that their DoorDash driver submitted an AI-generated image of their doorstep and faked the delivery to collect payment. Instead of thinking about this logically and realizing that you couldn't get a high-resolution photo of a door to make this work convincingly—the picture looked like clip art—and that the driver somehow defied the laws of physics by delivering instantly, people freaked out, even though the AI image looked obviously fake.       However, this does pose some real challenges. People are faking all kinds of content online, and as long as it's not malicious, I'm okay with that. But what if you want to verify something authentic? What if you need proof like an order confirmation or a dating app profile?      The answer isn't to stifle progress and halt tech—it never is. It's just simple solutions. Require people to take confirmation photos in-app. Man...

Z Flip 7 vs 7 FE

Image
Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a new article.        Samsung released two Z Flip models this year: the Galaxy Z Flip7 and the Z Flip7 FE. This article will serve as a guide to help you decide which phone you should buy. The Z Flip7 is arguably the better phone, especially for its target market (women and Gen Z) with much more fun colors. It also boasts a 4.1-inch, brighter cover display that runs at 120Hz, compared to the 3.4-inch, 60Hz cover display on the Z Flip7 FE.        The Flip7 FE has a slightly smaller main screen at 6.7 inches versus 6.9 inches on the Z Flip7 when unfolded. However, the Z Flip7 is far easier to hold in the hand and thinner overall. The Z Flip7 FE resembles last year's model, the Z Flip6, with its thicker and narrower design, which is noticeable and makes the phone feel somewhat outdated.        The cameras are the same on both models, featuring 50MP and 12MP main sensors, but the Z Flip7 has a better ...

I like slop

Image
There is a growing trend online to call great technology "slop." Sidenote but the slop is one of tge most annoying words know to man. Now yes, I will admit that artificial intelligence-generated content can be inaccurate or fake-looking at times. But most of what the annoying commenters online are calling "slop" is just good content. It's become a fun word amongst the worst people known to man: Redditors and Instagram commenters who are pushing against the pro-tech agenda. This content is genuinely fun, and the people pushing "slop" are just mad because they have nothing; they believe it is just "resistance." Under their cover, it's either faux empathy or pretending care about water. The term exploded in 2025. Merriam-Webster even made "slop" their Word of the Year, officially defining it as the flood of low-quality AI junk clogging our feeds. The doomers scream that real human creativity is drowning in this soulless zombi...

Ai Vision Refrigerator

Image
Samsung Electronics announced on December 22, 2025, that it will unveil its latest kitchen appliance lineup at CES 2026, featuring enhanced vision-based AI powered by Google Gemini and Google Cloud. The updates include refreshed designs and improved AI functionality for the Bespoke AI refrigerator, over-the-range (OTR) microwave, and slide-in range, aimed at simplifying daily tasks and elevating the kitchen experience.          The new Bespoke AI Refrigerator Family Hub will debut an upgraded AI Vision system integrated with Google Gemini—the first such integration in a refrigerator. Previously capable of recognizing 37 fresh food items and 50 pre-registered processed foods on-device, the updated version expands recognition to more items, including processed foods without manual registration. It automatically registers item names and detects user-labeled foods in personal containers, enabling clearer food list management and new personalize...

We Need Ai innovation Now more than ever

Image
AI is so cool. This has been a fun way to use it, though I wish it could be better. I imported SSALTW (the book) into Gemini and gave it the prompt: “Let me play as President Allison, Elijah, Vera, Ethan, or Molly.” It would generate some scenarios and polling data, kind of like the game The Campaign Trail. However, it would go off track sometimes, not sticking to the source material—for instance, asking about what would happen if Allison dated the star basketball player, something that never happened in the text and doesn’t even fit the story.      The first game it ran gave stats for each character. Ethan got the skill to “perceive” attacks, Allison started with higher polling, Vera had “indestructible,” Elijah had the ability to blow up the rule book, and Molly got dirty tricks. I thought this was fun, giving people abilities inferred from the text. However, when you selected an option, the AI would often tell you the results of the option before yo...

What Do You Even Need RAM For Anyway?

Image
People online are saying that RAM prices are rising and that phones will revert to 4GB of RAM, laptops to 8GB, and once again they are blaming AI for this change. The claim that phones will have 4GB of RAM is most likely exaggerated bait, though not completely false—recent reports from late 2025 indicate that rising DRAM costs could push entry-level and budget smartphones back toward 4GB or 6GB configurations in 2026, while mid-range models might stick closer to 8GB. High-end flagships are unlikely to drop below 12GB. Similarly for laptops, mid-range models may increasingly ship with 8GB to manage costs, though 16GB remains recommended for most users.      That said, let's assume this trend happens... in this modern era, who cares? Apart from on-device AI features, what truly groundbreaking new apps or tech developments are we seeing that demand massive RAM? Not much, in my opinion. People don't do as much heavy multitasking on their phones or computer...

YouTube has a MASSIVE Problem

Image
In my last article, I noted that the Internet had a problem. The walls were taken down, but we could not find anything. Innovation was dying, and computers just became more boring, sadly. YouTube also has this problem. YouTube is the premier video hosting site. As some of you may know, I have a wide variety of interests—from tech, to podcasts, to slice of life, to hacking, to OSINT, to history, to sports, etc. So why is my feed just geared toward not just a few podcasts, but basically only these podcasts? People blame the "algorithm" on TikTok for being too accurate and promoting "echo chambers," and far be it from me to ever defend TikTok or China, but here in the United States of America... I'd like our algorithms to be better. I like watching channels about people I have never heard of. Maybe someone will go do a deep dive on Jake Daugherty or IShowSpeed, and I will learn about them and what scandals they have participated in. Maybe they will be talking about...

The Internet's Search Problem

Image
The internet is amazing. It's one of the greatest inventions of the 20th century, and it allows us to search, connect, and access people and information that might not be found as easily in the analog era. However, the internet has grown so large that it presents a problem. There is so much information online that it's difficult to find everything you want, from my various interests in American history to preppy teen culture .      It seems that many fictional books were written about the experience of perplexity , but none of the related experiences have dedicated websites. All we have about someone's day-to-day life are social media pages, which are harder to index . They say that the algorithm controls our lives... and I wish it were a lot better. For instance, YouTube does not recommend good podcasts to listen to, nor can I find them easily. Searching for good recommendations for these and for books also doesn't work. It's just so sad that we ...

What Is Instagram Edits?

Image
Instagram Edits (often stylized as IG Edits) is a sleek, user-friendly video editing app that's quickly climbing my list of favorites for crafting Instagram Reels and other bite-sized short-form content. It's designed with social media creators in mind, offering intuitive tools to polish vertical videos without the bloat of more complex editors.     A quick caveat: It's locked to 9:16 vertical format for now, so long-form horizontal videos aren't on the table yet. The app flags exports over 3 minutes (the sweet spot for Reels and Shorts), but you can push beyond that if needed for other platforms.      Getting started is a breeze—fire up the mobile app, hit the plus button, and pull in clips from your camera roll or device files. (We'll focus on file-based editing here; direct recording is just as straightforward.) Once loaded, the timeline lets you layer in overlays, though you can't freely drag main clips to overlay tracks—a minor nitpick. ...

Samsung Trifold Announced

Image
Samsung Electronics announced the Galaxy Z TriFold, a smartphone that folds twice to deliver a 10-inch tablet-like display while remaining pocketable when closed. The Galaxy Z TriFold unfolds into a 10-inch main screen and folds down to roughly the size of a conventional smartphone, with a 6.5-inch cover display. Samsung claims the device is 3.9 mm thick at its thinnest point when open and weighs 309 grams. Samsung Trifold      Powered by a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the phone features a 200 MP main camera, a 5,600 mAh battery spread across three cells, and 45 W wired charging. It ships with 16 GB of RAM and storage options of 512 GB or 1 TB. Samsung emphasized several technical refinements made necessary by the triple-fold design: - Two differently sized hinges with a dual-rail structure - A reinforced display layer and new overcoat for durability across two fold lines - Titanium hinge housing and an Advanced Armor Aluminum frame - Exten...

Audio Lab is SO COOL!!

Image
There exists a cool all-in-one audio editor for Android. It is called AudioLab, and it is one of the coolest OFFLINE applications ever made, even though it has ads.      The way it is laid out is like an 'everything' app. Each action has its own screen. You can trim, convert, and compress audio just by clicking the button, selecting your audio, and desired format, but the real fun comes from the effects and the AI features.      One of my favorite features in Samsung devices is the audio eraser tool that eliminates background noise in videos. You can also do that and more, including vocal track isolation and autotune, just by downloading their local AI model and selecting their applets.      The most fun one is the voice changer. The voice changer has a variety of effects that can be applied to audio already taped on the device, but I like the fun recorder. Here, you can record audios straight from the app. You can choo...
